Aside from the well-known Alzheimer disease, there are the many types of dementia to affect the elderly seriously in cognitive, emotional, executive, judgemental and perceptual aspects. In this study, the prevalence of each dementia subtype, and severity of each dementia in a geriatric hospital, in Pusan with clinical approach. The results of this study show the similiar trends of prevalence of dementia as in other countries: Alzheimer dementia (22 of 45 patients), vascular dementia and dementia due to parkinsonism (9 of 45 patients), alcohol-induced persisting dementia (4 of 45 patients), dementia due to normal-pressure hydrocephalus (2 of 45 patients), multi-infarct dementia (1/45), pseudo-dementia (1/45), and dementia with psychosis (1/45). Furthermore, we will clinically investigate the mixed form of both Alzheimer dementia and vascular dementia.
